Documenta Archive Kassel

Documenta Archive in Kassel presents portrait designs from the series of artists by Heinz Günter Mebusch (1952 -2001) by Joseph Beuys, Wolf Vostell, Meret Oppenheim, Gerhard Richter and many other important artists of the 20th century who had participate at Documenta. Mebusch further developed the subjective photography of his teacher Otto Steinert (1915-1978) and established a new view on art.
.
Mebusch was well-known to over 200 artists of his time and later he realized a conceptual work in which the question “what is art” started on a new level in confrontation between him, his portrayed artist and his art and the viewer.
The Work of Heinz-Günter Mebusch is administrated and supervised by Artforum Culture Foundation I The Mebusch Estate.
